For homeowners

An outdoor room you can use all year

A ClearSpan roof turns a deck or patio into usable space in the rain and shade in summer, with New Zealand-made aluminium and a glazing option to suit your budget.

How it works

Start with the shape of the space. ClearSpan sits on its own posts and beams or attaches to the house, so it suits a freestanding pergola over a courtyard as easily as a lean-to over a back deck.

Then choose your roof. Clear polycarbonate keeps the space bright, grey tint or opal cuts heat and glare, and glass gives the most premium finish. All three fit the same framework, so you are not locked in early.

Frames are powder coated in any colour from the Dulux Duralloy range to match your joinery, roof or fence. Add Ziptrak outdoor blinds later and the space becomes usable through winter.

Use the online configurator to price and plan your own design, or have us put you in touch with an approved installer near you who will measure, quote and install.

Choosing your roof

  • Bright

    Clear polycarbonate

87% light transmission — keeps the room behind it bright and shelters the space from rain.

  • Cooler

    Grey tint or opal

Grey cuts light to 59% and opal to 48%, taking the glare and heat out of a west-facing space.

  • Premium

    Glass

The most refined finish, with the same universal sealing system carrying it.

  • Colour

    Powder coated frames

Any colour from the Dulux Duralloy range, with a 10 year durability warranty.

  • Shelter

    Ziptrak outdoor blinds

Clear PVC, mesh or canvas screens close the sides in so the space works in winter.

  • Care

    Easy to look after

Soapy water and a soft microfibre cloth twice a year keeps panels clear and the warranty intact.

Common questions

Do I need consent?

It depends on size, location and whether the structure attaches to the house. Your installer or council will confirm — PS1 producer statements are available where consent is required.

Can I install it myself?

Many homeowners do. Installation instructions are available, and the configurator lets you specify a kit. If you would rather not, we will put you in touch with an approved installer.

How long does it take?

Most residential projects are manufactured and installed within a few weeks of the design being confirmed, depending on colour and glazing choice.

What warranty do I get?

Polycarbonate panels carry a 10 year warranty and powder coating a 10 year Duralloy durability warranty, subject to the cleaning requirements in the product care guide.
